Internet security firm BullGuard has released the world’s first product of its kind to be targeted specifically at the gaming audience. The BullGuard Gamer’s Edition will protect a user’s computer online during the day to day activities and, more importantly, when playing against others or on your own while using the Internet. The software recognizes the games that are supported by a user’s computer when it is run on the computer and can make a swift transition into the “Game Mode,” which reduces resource consumptions and delays scheduled system scans.

Norton Internet Security 2008In a recent interview with PC Magazine, Rowan Trollope, senior vice president at Symantec, discussed his vision for Symantec’s future. Among those dreams includes a security suite that doesn’t impact system performance – and might even make your computer run faster.

Trollope is hoping that Norton Internet Security 2009 will be that product suite:

“If I could create what’s unquestionably the fastest security product in the world, without compromising security features, it would be very clear to the consumer why they’d buy Norton. Performance is the focus for 2009.”
